The following are the KPIs and Metrics automatically calculated in the Training Dashboard Excel Template

In this article, we provide the definitions used for the KPIs and metrics.

KPIs

  1. Enrollment %
    • % of active employees who have enrolled in trainings during the period selected. Number of enrolled employees divided by number of active employees in company.
  2. Training Completion %
    • % of training enrollments that were completed. Enrollments in cancelled status are excluded.
  3. Hours Trained per employee
    • Average number of Hours of training completed by each active employee during the period selected. Enrollments only in Completed status are considered.
  4. Avg. Enrollment per Training
    • Average number of enrollments per training. Total number of enrollments divided by total number of trainings available during the period selected. Enrollments in Cancelled status are excluded.
  5. Cost per employee
    • Average investment per employee in trainings taken or scheduled during the period selected. Total Cost divided by number of active employees. Enrollments in Cancelled status are excluded.
  6. Cost per enrollment
    • Average cost of trainings taken or scheduled during the period selected. Total Cost divided by number of enrollments. Enrollments in Cancelled status are excluded.
  7. Avg. Rating
    • Average rating of trainings completed by employees during the period selected. Sum of ratings of completed enrollments, divided by number of completed enrollments.
  8. Return on Investment
    • Incremental Benefit due to training divided by Investment. (Benefits – Cost)/Cost

Metrics

  1. # of Active Employees
    • Number of employees who are actively employed during the period selected
  2. Enrollments
    • Trainings taken or scheduled by employees during the period selected; Enrollments in cancelled status are excluded.
  3. Enrolled Employees
    • Unique employees taking trainings during the period selected. Enrollments in cancelled status are excluded.
  4. # Completed Trainings
    • Trainings completed by employees during the period selected; Only enrollments in ‘Completed’ status are included.
  5. Cost
    • Cost of trainings taken or scheduled by employees during the period selected; Enrollments in cancelled status are excluded.
  6. # of Hours Trained
    • Total number of Hours of trainings completed by employees during the period selected. Enrollments only in Completed status are considered.
  7. Benefits
    • Total Benefits expected from trainings completed by employees during the period. Enrollments only in Completed status are considered.
  8. # of Trainings
    • Number of trainings scheduled to be available during the period selected.  
  9. Hours per Training (not shown on first page of Dashboard, but available in Training view page)
    • Average number of Hours of training per enrollment. Total number of hours of training divided by total number of completed trainings during the period selected. Enrollments only in Completed status are considered.
